Overview

South Africa's transition from apartheid to democracy is more than a miracle; it is the reality of a people colonised, enslaved, dispossessed, enserfed and brutally oppressed; yet ultimately forgiving. It is the story of triumph in the face of seemingly insurmountable adversity and, ultimately, a collective will to be free. It is a legacy that should never be forgotten, lest it be repeated. We take a holistic look at the tourist experience, and provide the tourist with experiences that move beyond stereotypes of Africa. In this context, we connect you with ordinary South Africans, including: community activists, ex-political prisoners, academics and many more.

Sonqua hosts functions and discussions exclusively at venues that are politically or historically significant to the majority of South Africans. These include Robben Island — where former President Nelson Mandela spent 27 years — and the apartheid museum.

All our tour packages are a combination of tours and cultural events. We welcome both individuals and groups, and will turn any special event into an authentic and unforgettable affair; providing you with a truly African experience.

Management

Collectively, the management team is experienced event management specialists, and has hosted functions for diverse clientele, including the South African government, trade unions and business.
